Windows is and has always been terrible, and despite performance improvements and the Linux runtime, Windows 10 is kind of worse in every way than its predecessors. One of the things that pisses me off in Windows is that after backing files up and then later restoring them, the new user account typically lacks permissions to those restored files as the file move operation (for some reason) doesn't change the permissions to the user doing the operation.
So, I did some looking around, and found a few commands that take care of this. I put them in a little script that you can download and then decompress. Use it on the command line with permfix.bat C:\your\directory\here and boom all better.
